As part of an effort to discuss potential changes or improvements to the city’s downtown specific plan, the public is invited to join the town’s Planning Commission on a walking tour in surveying the downtown and discussing ideas on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon. The group will meet in front of City Hall at 10 a.m.
The Planning Commission has been conducting community workshops to consider a potential amendment to the downtown specific plan, and wants to hear ideas about making improvements.
The plan currently includes policies and guidelines to preserve and enhance the village character of the downtown, designates the types and locations of business that are allowed in the downtown, establishes design guidelines for new development and policies to preserve local landmarks, historic development patterns, diversity of building designs and pedestrian scale.
