The 4 x 100 meter relay of Ella Dartez, Shanai Auguis, Ella Tyus, and Majia Shaw lowered their school record time with a 49.53 mark at the Division 3 CIF preliminaries last Saturday, May 12, at Scott Field in Costa Mesa. The mark was good for eight place sending Laguna to the finals this weekend at El Camino College. Majia Shaw set an individual school record lowering her mark in the 200 meter dash with 25.42, good for a ninth place finish. She also qualified fifth in the 400 meters with a 57.1 time. For the boys, Ryan Smithers was the only qualifier with a fourth place finish in the 3200 run with a time of 9:29.40.
