Colleen Turner has been named the winner of the Thurston Middle School essay contest by the Patriot’s Day Parade committee.
The eighth grader is a student in Laura Silver’s English class.
Max Casper, a member of the LBHS 2018 graduating class and a student in Kerry Pellow’s graphic arts class, has won the parade program cover art contest, parade organizers announced.
Both will ride in the parade and each will be presented with $100 awards to be underwritten by Union Bank and the Parade Association.
