The Laguna Beach Parents’ Club invites all interested families to join them for a Family Friday in the Park with refreshments and activities from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, June 27, at Bluebird Park.
Bring a picnic, a blanket and mingle with new and current member families and learn about the organization’s year-round activities for parents and families.
Most of the nearly 170 member families find participating becomes more than a method to keep children busy, but also provides a sense of community and support for parents. Parent-only events include evenings and weekends to accommodate working parent schedules. Other offerings include holiday events, a meal for parents of new babies, plus many opportunities to support local charities.
“I am afraid there is a misconception that the LBPC is just about weekday playtime at the park, and that couldn’t be further from the truth,” said working mom and co-president Lisa Roberson-Beery.
Board member and playgroup coordinator Maile O’Hara, the mother of a 3-year-old and a newborn, found the group after moving to Laguna Beach from the East Coast. “The club was a total life saver! As a transplant from NYC with no connections in Laguna, the Parents Club opened the door to an amazing support system,” she said.
