I pride myself in my transparency, so must respond to any suggestion that I have been anything but.
I announced my candidacy for Laguna Beach City Clerk back in February. I made clear from the beginning, and have been consistent with my messaging and grassroots campaigning, that I am running to be a voice for the people, to improve transparency, and to use my knowledge, skills, and experience to help my community.
Anyone that has ever met me knows that I will always listen with an open mind, and advocate for their voice to be heard, whether I agree with their view or not. I therefore appreciate support from all that give it.
I have met with members of Village Laguna, Liberate Laguna, Laguna Residents First, the Laguna Beach Democratic Club, the Laguna Beach GOP, CANDO, the Laguna Canyon Conservancy, the South Laguna Civic Association, and Laguna Beach Pride 365. I have reached out to the Laguna Beach Business Club, the Laguna Beach Woman’s Club, the AAUW, and the American Legion. I have reached out to literally every group and organization I can think of because I truly want to represent everyone.
I posted my Form 460 disclosing my donors, the first week of July, three weeks before my opponent. It clearly lists members of Village Laguna, and people not associated with Village Laguna. I have ensured that my website is very informative about who I am and who supports me. I am not currently endorsed by Village Laguna. I am supported by our former City Clerks, Verna Rollinger and Martha Anderson, and former Clerk Meg Monahan, because they understand the importance of the City Clerk being independent, with no conflict of loyalties with City management and City officials, and they know that I have proven myself to be independent. In every role I have served, I have served everyone equally, with unparalleled excellency.
I understand there are feuds between people, neighbors, and groups, but I do not take part in those feuds and will not be used as a tool for others’ agendas or vendettas.
