Boys Soccer (7-3-1, 2-0-0)
Laguna picked up a pair of wins to open league play last week taking a 1-0 victory over defending champion Godinez on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the Valley High School stadium. Jet Rocha scored the lone goal with about five minutes remaining in the contest. On Friday, Jan. 12, they defeated Calvary Chapel 2-1 at Centennial Park with goals by Carson Cushing and Beck Kessler. It only got tougher this week when the Breakers hosted Estancia (8-3-3) on Wednesday, Jan. 17, and Costa Mesa (7-1-1) this Friday, Jan. 19.
Girls Soccer (4-8-1, 2-0-0)
The girls squad opened league play with a pair of road wins to extend their league win streak to 12 consecutive victories. Reilyn Turner scored all three goals on Tuesday, Jan. 9, in a win over Godinez and two days later the Breakers defeated Calvary Chapel 4-0 with Turner adding another three-goal hat trick and Shea Skendarian chipping in one score.
