Pedestrian stop. 500 block of S. Coast Hwy. 2:33 a.m. Alexander Jeffrey Pratt, 26, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for a $100,000 warrant.
Petty theft. Thalia St. 2:21 p.m. A stolen backpack containing a smart phone was found abandoned and recovered, but the culprit had vanished.
Wednesday, Feb. 18
Fraud. 200 block of Forest Ave. 10:49 a.m. Detectives are investigating a customer who wrote two checks totaling $570 on Christmas Eve on a closed account.
Burglary. 100 block of Moss St. 11:20 a.m. Someone broke into a locked car and took a duffel bag with personal items valued at $3,200.
Thursday, Feb. 19
Domestic violence. 20000 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 12:23 a.m. Jacob Savala, 26, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for suspicion of felony domestic violence following an argument with his wife, who was hit in the head with a glass jar.
Disturbance. Thalia St. 3:36 a.m. Armand Daniel Begay, 24, of Laguna Beach, was arrested for suspicion of DUI when he was found passed out in a vehicle with the music and lights on. Bail was set at $10,000.
Fraud. 300 block of Glenneyre St. 3:44 p.m. Detectives are investigating the forgery of three checks totaling $1,322.36 made out to a restaurant.
Fraud. 500 block of Forest Ave. 3:55 p.m. A resident learned someone had used personal information to open a cable account, which had been charged $770.
Drunk driving. 600 block of S. Coast Hwy. 7:33 p.m. A 38-year-old woman from Laveen, Ariz., who allegedly sideswiped a parked vehicle in a garage, was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail was set at $2500.
Friday, Feb. 20
Traffic stop. 200 block of N. Coast Hwy. 1:41 a.m. A 31-year-old Laguna Niguel woman was cited for possession of a controlled substance and held for $2500 bail.
Petty theft. Thalia Street Beach. 6:16 p.m. A bag containing a cell phone and house keys worth $300 disappeared.
Saturday, Feb. 21
Traffic stop. 600 block of Ramona Ave. 1:25 a.m. A 24-year-old from Laguna Niguel was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Traffic stop. Oak St. 2:18 a.m. A 34-year-old Laguna Beach woman was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
DUI. Forest Ave. 6 p.m. Katherine Kyle Averill Martin, 42, Laguna Beach, who allegedly rear-ended a vehicle near Broadway, pulled over three miles later near Summit Drive after the motorist tailed her and called police. She was cited for suspicion of DUI and hit and run and held for $15,000 bail.
Vehicle burglary. 300 block of N. Coast Hwy. 6:38 p.m. A car owner saw a man fleeing with a stolen leopard print purse, but police did not find a suspect.
Pedestrian stop. Jasmine St. 8:52 p.m. Ryan Michael Chapman, 43, of Santa Ana, was arrested for outstanding warrants.
Sunday, Feb. 22
Traffic stop. 300 block of Broadway St. 2:03 a.m. A 47-year-old Laguna Niguel woman was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.
Petty theft. 15-00621. 2900 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 9:19 a.m. A woman who had left her purse at a residence returned to find it missing. The loss was estimated at $650.00.
Medical aid. 20200 block of Laguna Canyon Rd. 9:32 a.m. A ranger was dispatched to aid a fallen bicyclist who had possibly dislocated a shoulder in a fall near Bommer Ridge and the Stage Coach Trail.
Grand theft. 500 block of Forest Ave. 4:42 p.m. A resident visiting Las Vegas reported that someone stole his $3500 watch.
