Local author Gary Paul Corcoran’s has written a new crime novel “South on Pacific Coast Highway,” which is set in Laguna Beach.

Summer Writing Contest for Teens
Newport Beach Public Library is holding a creative writing contest for high school students who are library members. The winning short story writer will receive a cash award of $250 and his or her manuscript will be published on the library foundation’s website and quarterly publication, Bookmark. The runner up will receive $100.
The story, which must be submitted by Sept. 6, must be set in a library and cannot exceed 1,500 words. Contest rules: nbplfoundation.org.
