Editor,
Thank you for writing your sentiments (in the June 5 edition) regarding the beautiful trees by the high school, along St. Ann’s Drive. We have lived in Laguna for over 30 years and I want to say that I agree with everything you wrote. So many people I know are saddened about the removal of the trees.
Open any art book depicting Laguna’s landscape and you will see the beautiful paintings of eucalyptus and palm trees by plein air painters. Those trees belong here for future generations to enjoy. Any one who doesn’t believe this need only go the Laguna Art Museum and take a look…get educated!
This debate is not really about the trees; it’s about certain entitled individuals who want to cut down our trees to improve their view of the ocean.
