The Upside trio of flute, percussion and bass performs at the Laguna Art Museum on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m.

The classical and jazz cross-over ensemble are graduates of the country’s top conservatories who collaborate on music from Bach to Brubeck.

The concert presented by Laguna Beach Live is free to museum members and to non-members with museum admission.

4 getting out How to Succeed

Stand-up comedian and an Emmy-nominated television writer and producer Carol Leifer will appear at Laguna Beach Books, 1200 S. Coast Highway at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, to discuss and sign her book, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Crying,” a collection of essays charting her three-decade journey through show business.
