Chabad Jewish Center plans Rosh Hashanah services and a workshop in the next week, marking the beginning of the Jewish new year 5775.

At a 7 p.m. cooking class in a private home on Sunday, Sept. 21, cook Mazal Yuditsky introduces participants to Rosh Hashanah foods and customs from Morocco, Turkey, and elsewhere.

Bring traditions to life with a kids shofar and challah-making workshop at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23. The workshop and services take place at Chabad, 30804 S. Coast Highway.

Services are planned for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24; 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 with the shofar sounding at 12:30 p.m. followed by tashlich service at Montage beach; 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26.

Services and programs are open to the community.
