Merchant Jon Madison, center, gives Sam Kluver, Ayrton Garcia and Tyler Metez his remaining holiday inventory to sell for a scholarship fundraiser this Saturday, Jan. 11.

With the post-holiday merchandise from Madison Square & Garden Café as its inventory, local boys will hold a one-day yard sale at Legion Hall this Saturday, Jan. 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Shop and restaurant owner Jon Madison donated nearly $5,000 worth of inventory that will be priced to sell at a mega yard sale, said Enzo Sadler, co-president of 10 Boys Who Care, a group of Thurston Middle School seventh graders who intend to raise money for an LBHS scholarship every year until they graduate.

Their overall goal is $2,500 for a 2014 graduating senior boy and girl. The boys need just $500 more to reach their fundraising goal of $2,500.

“All 10 of the families are bringing great stuff too,” Sadler promised.

“I think it is so impressive that these kids have set a goal of helping graduating high school students,” Madison explained his donation. “I hope this is successful so we can help them do this every year until we see the 10 boys graduate.”
